We start the first quarter of 2025 with news regarding the quick-jibri-installer (QJI) and its version 8.0

This release adds support for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and the upcoming Trisquel 12.0 release. It also fixes some issues with write permissions during node-server synchronization, allowing full file handling from the Nextcloud recording access interface, configured by jra_nextcloud.sh.

One of the most relevant changes in QJI v8.0 is the migration of RSA keys to ED25519 for OpenSSH connections between the server and the nodes, ensuring greater security and efficiency in authentication.

This release also consolidates and optimizes changes introduced in previous versions, improving their implementation on nodes. It is important to note that JItsi Meet is constantly evolving, so new features may be incorporated with future updates. However, the activation of some features may depend on the location of the configuration files.

For this reason, it is recommended that when an expected new feature is introduced in Jitsi Meet, it is first tested on a clean installation. This will allow you to become familiar with its behavior before checking its compatibility on an instance with an extensive update history.

That said, QJI v8.0 represents an excellent opportunity to start with a clean installation, incorporating the latest Jitsi Meet improvements and optimizing your environment configuration.
